About Us

People Plan Toronto (PPT) started in early 2007 as an ad hoc committee comprised of representatives from a number of residents' associations across Toronto. We believe that Toronto's planning process has become unwieldy, overcomplicated, and far too removed from the citizens it is meant to serve.  Our mission is to change that by helping communities understand more about the planning process and advocating for reform.

PPT convenes grassroots forums and round tables to discuss planning issues, advocates for better urban planning and promotes a strong community voice in the planning process. In 2007, we created the , bringing together over 140 people from communities across Toronto and creating the "".  In 2008, we held neighbourhood forums in Scarborough, Etobicoke and North Toronto, culminating in a panel discussion at the St. Lawrence Centre Forum entitled "".   Among its other activities, PPT is currently working on expanding its Planning 101 toolkit.  We invite all who are interested to join the fight for a better Toronto!
